I just wanted to let you know that, for the first time in CosPain's run, we'll be posting the next strip a day late, on Wednesday, June 3rd, at 12:00 PM EST.
This is not due to being behind on work, or due to a scheduling error. This is happening because of a conversation I had with my good friend Jon Porobil over at the Play Disc podcast. He let me know that they were delaying the release of their next episode in honor of #BlackOutTuesday, an event where the music industry is effectively going silent for one day, Tuesday, June 2nd, in deference to the Black Lives Matter movement and the current protests happening across the United States. While the blackout is primarily affecting the music industry, I have decided that the next comic strip can wait one day to allow social media and the news cycle to be more saturated with the voices that are speaking up.
CosPain is not, and I hope will never be, heavy-handed in its politics. This delay does not reflect a change in that position. A good humorist, however, knows when the time isn't right for a joke. On Tuesday, I am going to take a step back and listen. Whatever side you're on, I encourage you to do the same.
