I don't know if my audience will remember the old Mastercard ads that this parodies, but I think (hope) the joke works even if you're too much of a young'un to know the reference.
It's not obvious to everyone how expensive being an artist can be. Those tablers out there selling their stuff for a few bucks have often invested thousands of dollars in supplies and training to get to where they are. And there are easier ways to make money, so we definitely do it because we want to entertain you. Just, y'know, throw a couple bucks at tablers you appreciate.
This is the first strip I've drawn on my brand new Huion tablet display! I'm incredibly excited to have made the technological jump. There are a few growing pains, since it's definitely different from using a Wacom, but I'm very happy with my decision.
