Impostor syndrome is a very real problem that plagues many professionals, and not just the ones in creative fields. That feeling that you're a kid in a room full of grown-ups that know what they're doing, and you're just faking it and hoping nobody notices. It's important to learn to recognize and override it. It's why I always tell people who refer to themselves as "aspiring cartoonists" that there is no such thing: if you make comics, you are a cartoonist. Period.
The biggest example I have of impostor syndrome in my own life is when people buy special editions of The Letters of the Devil (the second book of which is coming as soon as possible, I promise!). My special editions cost about three times as much as my regular editions because they have handmade booksleeves and custom L letters, but when people buy them, I always have to fight the urge to say, "Are you sure? You can get the book for a LOT cheaper." So if I ever say that to you at a con, scold me and buy the special edition anyway (see what I did there?).
