If I could give advice on getting into the freelance game, it would be this: be prepared to do EVERYTHING. No. I mean it. EVERYTHING. Not just the parts you like. Sure, you may be an expert at, say, photography, but how are you at balancing a budget? How about self-promotion? You good at maintaining all your deadlines? Are you prepared to pay for your own health insurance and handle the taxes on your business? Or would you rather just do the part you're good at and actually ENJOY, and pay someone else to handle the other parts? That's the real difference between being a freelancer and working for someone else. The independence can be worth it, but it's important to properly weigh the pros and cons.
Rock on, guys, and never stop drawing.
