Sometimes, my comics are just random goofiness that I thought would be funny and have no bearing on reality whatsoever. This ... is not one of those times.
My very first Super MAGFest in 2017, this happened. Okay, slight dramatic license, as I only got to see the aftermath and did not get deluged in bubbles myself. Still, the outcome of the prank was ... significant.
At the risk of sounding like I'm telling them dern kids to get off mah lawn, if you're thinking about pulling something like this, please don't. The property damage that resulted was more than just fun and games. This was an indoor fountain, and the soap actually got into the water main, causing it to rupture and forcing suds up from under the floor tiles. I'm not sure how much damage was done to the hotel, but it was clearly a lot.
Thankfully, the hotel and convention center were cool about it and didn't perma-ban MAGFest. It's a good thing, too, since it's one of my favorite cons. I'll be there in person this January, so hopefully I'll see some of you there!
