The term "cartoonist" is somewhat broad, but not everyone realizes this. When people hear what I do for a living, many make some pretty specific assumptions. "Oh, you're a cartoonist? What have you animated? What newspapers are you in? Who's your favorite superhero?" It's as if you said that you were a writer, and somebody immediately assumed you wrote ad copy; maybe you do, but it's a big assumption to make from very general information.
