My cosplay friends have all been very supportive as I go through my hair loss journey. Moreso, in many ways, than I have been to myself.
It is true that I've never liked cosplaying in wigs. They're expensive, uncomfortable, and frustrating to maintain. Might they be more appealing once I give in to inevitability and shear off what remains of my luxurious locks? Nah, I'll probably just cosplay Grog.
