My very first attempt was in 2015, when I created "Wendigo". I like to joke that my first 24-hour comic took me nine days to complete. The truth is, though, that I'd never done a 25-page comic before. Most of my classmates would talk about how that seemed incredibly long and difficult, but after finishing that comic in just over a week, I suddenly realized that longer comics didn't seem that scary anymore. That newfound confidence was an integral step towards finishing my first graphic novel, The Letters of the Devil, only two years later.
If you're a cartoonist and you've never tried this challenge, I heartily encourage you to give it a whirl. Maybe you make it, maybe you don't, but either way, you'll create something, and at the end of the day, that's what we're really here to do.
Rock on, guys, and never stop drawing.
