My dad is the designated photographer in the family, and he is admittedly very good at it. Getting family photos taken, however, is always a test of patience.
This comic is also a reference to an inside joke. At a reunion one time, Dad set the timer incorrectly and it caught him from behind while he tried to get into position. It's a problem that was easily fixed for the next shot, but right before the corrected timer went off, my uncle yelled out, "Doug's butt!" The laughter made for a great photo.
