Over the years, I've taken on various roles at cons. From attendee, to vendor, to panelist, to staff, I've had to get a lot of different types of badges. And let me tell you, some cons just don't know how to organize that kind of thing.

We ran into another variant at the con we attended last weekend - our badges had been deferred since 2020, when it was canceled because of the pandemic. 2021 we weren't comfortable yet, and then in 2022 *we* caught that bug days before the con started. So this year we finally got to use those tickets, which we did get confirmation from the con customer service were good to go.

Except... the con's customer service team was apparently mostly fired since 2022, when they were not supposed to continue deferring tickets. And policy had since changed to no longer allow any deferred tickets (just resold). THANKFULLY they did still honor them, because we had traveled for that (sold out!) convention. But front line workers had NO idea how to handle us.
