Fun fact: this is an inside joke in our family because my dad said this to my mom on their first date. Decades later, she still makes fun of him for it. If anyone's curious, the movie was Purple Rain.
Here's another fun fact for you: this comic was originally going to be the ONLY strip covering this date. My plan was to have their relationship start in the background without making a big deal out of it. When I discussed what MP's outfit might look like with my good friend Trickssi, however, she expressed extreme dismay that there wouldn't be a comic covering that very question, and all of a sudden, my one strip became a miniseries.
It was absolutely the right call, and I'm glad I took the plunge. This is WAY more fun than the original idea.
