I've talked about the MP/Gary situation with a number of people, and some have expressed concerns about the fact that they work together, and that Gary, a paralegal, is technically an underling to MP, a lawyer. Some said that they'd never be allowed to date, while others said that inter-firm relationships between paralegals and lawyers absolutely occur but traditionally with reversed gender dynamics.
It's been almost 10 years since I worked in an office environment, but my experience was that workplace romances were something that happened but were kept quiet until it was clear they were long-term. That's basically how I decided to handle this. In addition, I picture the firm having a team of paralegals, and I imagine it would be easy enough to rearrange things so they didn't have to work together if necessary.
And if you still have a problem with this ... well, it's my story, so there.
Rock on, guys, and never stop drawing.
