So as you can see, this story will work a little differently. Since Pincushion is a silent character, I didn't want typical dialogue in his story. I considered having no talking at all, but considering how the comics medium allows for all sorts of visual communication, I decided to experiment with something more pictographic.
I'm quite fond of silent characters, even when they tie into problematic tropes. There's something fascinating to me about people that communicate entirely with expressions and body language, especially when they have a friend/partner that is an absolute chatterbox. For cartoonists, it's an exercise in visual communication, and when done right, the character is even more demonstrative than someone who relies on speech. Considering the adventure that awaits Pincushion, I hope I'm up to the challenge.
Rock on, guys, and never stop drawing.
